Attention Caffeinated Chocoholics! Starbucks Releases New Molten Chocolate Lattes and Frappuccinos

Attention Caffeinated Chocoholics! Starbucks Releases New Molten Chocolate Lattes and Frappuccinos

Starbucks has announced a new line of Molten Chocolate coffee and hot chocolate drinks with mocha sauce and ‘chocolaty chips'

As if the mocha Frappuccino wasn’t sugary enough.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Starbucks is releasing a line of chocolate-centric drinks that put caffeine and cocoa front and center inside your morning grande cups. The coffee chain announced Molten Chocolate Lattes, Frappuccinos, and hot chocolate made with rich bittersweet mocha sauce and “chocolaty chips.” (We’re not entirely sure what chocolaty chips are, but it’s possible they do not meet FDA’s strict standards for chocolate products.)

Here’s the description of each treat from Starbucks:

Molten Chocolate Latte: Chocolaty chips are melted into espresso and topped with steamed milk combined with bittersweet mocha sauce. Finished with a special mocha and espresso-infused whipped cream with an espresso mocha drizzle. Available hot and iced.

Molten Chocolate Frappuccino Blended Beverage: Coffee with rich mocha sauce and chocolaty chips blended with milk and ice. Finished with a special mocha and espresso-infused whipped cream with an espresso mocha drizzle.

Molten Hot Chocolate: Bittersweet mocha sauce and chocolaty chips melted into steamed milk for a smooth and creamy taste. A special mocha and espresso-infused whipped cream and espresso mocha drizzle tops off the beverage.

Starbucks is also releasing customizable GIFs if you share your #StarbucksDate on social media channels.

The limited-time treats are available Valentine’s week from February 8 through the 14, but there’s no word on if the extra-“chocolaty” drinks will appear on permanent menus anytime soon.
