Michael Bolton Goes Undercover as a Barista in Los Angeles

“When a man loves a latte…”

Bolton’s Netflix special aims to “inspire the world to make love.”

Would you spend $10 on a latte if it meant getting sung to by Michael Bolton? Unsuspecting customers at Alfred Coffee in Los Angeles got a little more than what they paid for when the soft rock singer went undercover as a barista and belted out coffee orders in a video that aired this week.

The customers quickly took notice of the guest barista at the third-wave coffee shop, with one customer named Jay left stunned and shaking.

“I can’t go to Starbucks now — I’ve got to come here in the hopes that maybe Michael Bolton will return,” Jay said in the YouTube video.

The stint, in collaboration with Vanity Fair, was to promote his Netflix exclusive, Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special, which premiered on Feb. 7.

The star-studded special, created by The Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer and Comedy Bang! Bang!’s Scott Aukerman, also featured Fred Armisen, Adam Scott, Sarah Silverman, and Maya Rudolph.
